This policy explains what information Finch collects when you use our website and app, why we use it, who helps us process it, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address and sign-in information, and the businesses and teammates you add.
- Your books: customers, invoices, estimates, bills, transactions, categories, receipts and documents you upload or create.
- Bank data: balances and transactions from accounts you connect through SimpleFIN Bridge. We store the access link encrypted with AES-256-GCM and never see your bank password.
- Payments: when you accept payments, the business verification information our payments partner and our review require, and records of the payments, refunds and disputes. Card numbers are collected by our payments partner, not stored by Finch.
- Website usage: privacy-friendly analytics about page views and button clicks on our public website, including which version of a page you saw, without advertising cookies. A first-party cookie remembers that version for 90 days.
How we use it
- To run Finch: keep your books, send the invoices and reminders you ask for, and process payments.
- To keep accounts and payments safe, including fraud and risk review.
- To support you when you contact us, and to improve the product.
- To meet legal, tax and payment-network obligations.
We don't sell your information, and we don't use your books for advertising.
Finch AI
When you use Finch AI, the relevant parts of your books and your messages are sent to an AI model provider to produce an answer or a proposal. Requests are routed only to providers that don't collect your data for their own use. Conversations are private to you; proposals are visible to your business's team.
Who processes it
We use service providers to host the app and its database, store files, send email, sync bank accounts (SimpleFIN Bridge), process payments (our payments partner), run AI requests and measure website usage. They process information only to provide their service to us.
Your choices
- Export your books at any time from the app.
- Disconnect a bank connection or remove a teammate whenever you like.
- Ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it, or to delete your account.
Keeping it
We keep your books while your account is open. Some records, such as payment and tax records, must be kept for a period required by law even after you close your account.
